Who can use Surf Buddies

You must be 18 or older to post, reply or message on Surf Buddies.
One account per person, using your real first name.

Be a good human

Be respectful. No harassment, threats, hate speech, bullying or unwanted advances.
Surf Buddies is for surfing. It's not a dating service.
Don't post anyone else's personal details, photos or location.
Don't pressure anyone into meeting, travelling or surfing conditions beyond their ability.
Show up when you say you will, or let people know if plans change.

Buying and selling

Only list surf gear you own and are allowed to sell. No stolen gear, ever.
Describe items honestly, including dings, repairs and the condition rating.
No spam, fake listings, or listings designed to take payment for something that doesn't exist.

What we do about it

We review every report and can remove posts or listings, and suspend or ban accounts, without notice.
We'll cooperate with NZ Police and pass on information when the law allows or requires it.

Your own risk

Resurf is a platform that connects people. We don't check, vet, screen or supervise members, and we don't organise or attend meet-ups, sessions, road trips or carpools. Any meeting, travel, surfing or trade with someone you find on Resurf is at your own risk, and you're responsible for your own safety and decisions. Surfing is a dangerous activity. Always judge the conditions yourself.

To the extent the law allows, Resurf isn't liable for loss, damage or injury arising from contact, meetings or transactions between members. Nothing here limits any rights you have under New Zealand law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies.
